Peer Teaching Reflection
As a part of B.Ed curriculum we have to take 40 lessons. Due to this pandemic situation we are allowed to take online classes, so from November 16, 2020 we started our online teaching practice through Google meet. Our lesson plans are divided into 4 section, we have to take 10 peer class then 10 face to face teaching, 15 victers lesson review and 5 econtent.
First we started our teaching practice with peer teaching, we started peer teaching on 16 November 2020. Due to limited time period we were allowed to take 3 lesson plans in a day and we take 3 lesson plan per day. And we finished our 10 lesson plan in 4 days. I started my class at 9 am and winded up first section at 9.30 then next section was at 10 am and winded up second section at 10.30 am and third section was started at 11 am and winded up it at 11.30 am. I took 3 chapters (The Mysterious Picture , Maternity and Song of the rain) for peer teaching. I used ict, video presentation, chart, ppt etc as learning aids. My peers were Hevin , Rinsiya ,Deepa ,Maya, Devika. They observed my class and after the class they pointed out my strength weakness and suggestions. My strengths were good blackboard work, deep content knowledge, appropriateness of giving activities, using ict in proper way etc. My weakness were tension, less hand movements. And they gave suggestions to improve my communication skills and confidence level. Teachers assigned for my peer teaching were Sajeena miss, our option teacher and Renjini miss our general teacher to observed my class teachers also pointed out my strength and weakness and they also.gave suggestions to improve my confidence level and communication skills.
Peer review helped me in identifying my strength, weakness and areas that I need to be improved.
Overall the school internship phase 1 was a new experience because of the teaching through online which provides a new experiences. This increased my techno pedagogic skill and become aware about the new apps which were useful and helpful for us in teaching practices. But missed the traditional classroom settings and learner interaction as in classroom.
